Federal - homeowners

Ended

The 30% federal residential solar tax credit has ended

The residential clean energy credit (Section 25D) no longer applies to home solar. It was terminated for systems placed in service after December 31, 2025, so homeowner projects today are quoted and financed with no federal credit. Everything below is the state, utility, and market value that is still available to you.

Federal - businesses

Available

Businesses can still claim the federal Investment Tax Credit

Commercial, non-profit, farm, and rental-property systems remain eligible for the federal ITC (30% base) plus bonus adders such as domestic content, along with MACRS accelerated depreciation. Cannon Solar is domestic-content rated, so qualifying commercial projects can reach a 40% credit.
